Ontario Early Years Centres: Winter Mom and Baby Programs

The Ontario Early Years Centres located all across Toronto is a free government-run program offering daily activities for mommies and infants.
Check here for a location near you.

Keep in mind that even if the centre is far away from you, they may have other locations in your neighborhood that offer classes or drop-in programs throughout the week.
All drop-in programs, workshops, and classes are FREE for everyone.
To get started: find your nearest location, go to their main site to get your family number and download their schedule. Classes require pre-registration and the spots fill up very quickly.

Toronto Public Libraries

Some branches offer programs such as:
Family Time (birth -5 years)-Stories, songs, and rhymes for children who are 5 years and under with parents and caregivers. Drop-in, free.
Toddler Time (19 months -3 years)-Stories, songs, and rhymes for toddlers with parents and caregivers. Drop-in, free.

Toronto community Centres: Winter Mom and Baby programs

The community centres in Toronto offer drop-in programs for babies and toddlers such as Indoor Play with Caregivers (1-5yrs), a 13 weeks program, free, drop in.

In addition, the centres offer programs for babies starting at 6 months such as Making Music with Caregivers (6-18months). It’s not free, however, the cost is only $41 for 9 weeks, and will probably fit in most families’ budgets.

Keep in mind that you need to pre-register for this program in advance (a few months before). Their site is not very user-friendly. The best thing to do is to go to your nearest centre and register. You will get your family number to access the online registration. You can also ask in person about the programs they are offering and the schedule for the next session.

Mommy Connections: Mom and Baby programs

Winter Mom and Baby ProgramsMommy Connections is a community of new moms and offers programs for moms and babies (newborn to toddler).
In Toronto, there are 3 locations: Midtown, West, and East.
They offer 8-week programs, each week with a different demo class or activity, such as Postnatal fitness, music session, baby nutrition, baby sleeping, and more.

North York Circle Time is led by Jeremy Law, a dad of 2 and a talented musician who connects with kids of all ages. Classes are designed for children 0-4 years old and hosted at various homes in North York.

Strolling the ROM

The Royal Ontario Museum offers programs for parents who would like to explore the museum in a baby-friendly environment.
It’s a 4-week program for $120.
For adults with children up to 2 years old.
Registration required.
Limited spaces available so add yourself to their email list to be notified when they open a new class.

Star and Strollers

You can take your LO’ on a movie date! You will find a baby-friendly environment, lowered volume, and dimmed lighting. Hopefully, your baby will sleep during the screening and you will be able to enjoy the show.
